Sister of child beaten to death last month in Natchez released from hospital

NATCHEZ — WLBT TV of Jackson reported Tuesday night that a 3-year-old Natchez girl who was hospitalized after being abused has been released from University of Mississippi Medical Center.

The 3-year-old is the sister of Armani Hill, 4, who died from blunt force trauma last month.

Natchez police arrested the girls’ mother LaKeishia Jones, 25, and her boyfriend James Christopher Anderson, 24, in the incident.

WLBT reports that the 3-year-old, Lailah Hill, and her 8-year-old brother have been placed in foster care.

“Their cases have been sent to a grand jury,” WLBT reports. “Investigators say Anderson was babysitting the two young girls when he brutally beat them.”
