NATCHEZ — Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies had three suspects in custody Monday night facing charges of attempted murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling for a Monday afternoon shooting in the county.
Deputies received a call about a shooting in the Kenny Graves subdivision at approximately 4:15 p.m. Monday, said Travis Patten, Adams County Sheriff.
“Once deputies arrived on the scene, they got another call saying a subject was shot on Myrtle Drive,” Patten said.
Once deputies arrived at Myrtle Drive, however, Patten said, they discovered that the subject who had been shot in the back while on Ingram Circle in the Kenny Graves subdivision had driven to Myrtle Drive where family members loaded the victim into another vehicle to take him to the hospital, Patten said.
The victim was later transported to Merit Health Natchez with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the back, Patten said.
“Deputies found several shell casings,” Patten said, adding that the suspects also are believed to have shot into an apartment unit in the Kenny Graves subdivision with two people in it at the time.
Deputies arrested Emanuel Hill, 18, his brother, Jeremiah Hill, 17, and their cousin, Issac Hill, 16, and each will be charged as adults with attempted murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling, Patten said.
“This investigation is ongoing and more arrests are pending,” Patten said.
