FERRIDAY— Services for Laura L. Davis, 78, of Ferriday, who died at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Word of Faith Ambassador Outreach Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Danny Lewis officiating.
Burial will follow at the Consurella Cemetery on Lake St. John under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Davis was born in Waterproof, the daughter of Frank Williams and Dorothy Davis. She was a member of the New Morning Star Baptist Church in Ferriday, where she sang in the church choir.
Davis was preceded in death by her parents; six siblings, Jerry Bottley, Rosie Stacker, Augustine, Julia, Diane and Delores Davis; two grandsons, LaDrian Davis and Fred McCray Jr.; and one great-granddaughter, Jacee Scott.
Survivors include three sons, James “Blue” Davis and wife, Lynette, of Snellville, Georgia, Lawrence Davis and wife, Magnolia, of Ferriday, and Alfred Davis and wife, Velta, of Lafayette, Louisiana; four daughters, Sarah Davis, Dr. Carol Williams and husband, Barry, Debra Harris and companion, Rickey Koon, all of Ferriday, and Glenda Bailey of Vidalia; one brother, Willie Davis and wife, Shirley, of St. Joseph, Louisiana; three sisters, Jean Davis of Monroe, Louisiana, Eva Smith and husband, Eldon, of Hephzibah, Georgia, and Paula Davis of Huntsville, Texas; 22 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a special cousin, Louis Washington of Lake St. John.
