District Attorney Ronnie Harper announces his campaign for re-election as the District Attorney for the Sixth Judicial District of the State of Mississippi.
“It has been my honor and privilege to serve as your District Attorney in Adams, Franklin, Wilkinson and Amite County for the past Twenty-Four years. Prior to being elected your District Attorney, I served as an Assistant District Attorney for Seven years,” harper said. “I have prosecuted over 5,000 criminal cases, and I have been the lead prosecutor in over 250 felony trials. Every day, I use my hard-earned knowledge and experience to work toward my goal of insuring that justice is served and all of the citizens of Southwest Mississippi can feel safe and secure in their homes.”
Harper has been married to his wife, Linda, for 31 years. They are active members of the Grace United Methodist Church, where Harper serves as chairman of the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee and sings in the choir.
“We are also active in our local community, regularly volunteering at the Natchez Stewpot and supporting the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society, for which I previously sat on the Board of Directors,” Harper said. “I was also honored with the Distinguished American Award by the Miss-Lou Chapter of the National Football Foundation for my service to Southwest Mississippi.”
“As your District Attorney, I have also been fortunate to represent each of you on the State and National level,” Harper said.
“I am a past President and lifetime board member of the Mississippi Prosecutors Association,” Harper said.
He has been appointed to various committees and task forces by the Chief Justice of the Mississippi Supreme Court and the Attorney General, including, but not limited to, the Uniform Criminal Rules Study Committee and the Mississippi Legislature’s Corrections and Criminal Justice Task Force.
“For the past 19 years, all of the prosecutors of the State of Mississippi have selected me to serve as their representative on the Board of Directors of the National District Attorneys Association,” Harper sais.
Harper said he truly believes that his 31 years of experience, knowledge and proven record make him the most qualified person to continue serving as District Attorney.
“As your District Attorney, I will continue to support and assist our law enforcement officers, and I will continue to work hard, be fair and respectful of all people, and try, with the help of God, to do the right thing, to the best of my ability, to insure that justice is served in each and every case,” Harper said.
“I am honored and humbled by the trust you have placed in me for the past 24 years, and I am respectfully asking the voters to continue that trust and allow me to remain as your District Attorney,” Harper said. “Please vote in the Democratic Primary on Tuesday, Aug. 6, to re-elect me, Ronnie Harper, your District Attorney.”
