“We came out with a purpose. We executed extremely well tonight,” head coach Stanley Smith said. “It was good to play in front of our home crowd. The fans definitely made a difference.”

Senior quarterback Kobe Dillon had a standout performance for the Trojans as he completed 11 of 22 passes for 213 yards with three touchdown passes and one interception to go with 109 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just five carries. Byron Milligan had three catches for 58 yards and two touchdowns as well as six carries for 64 yards, including a 12-yard TD run. Elijah White had a 38-yard touchdown reception early in the third quarter and Justin Burns had a 13-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

Ferriday raced out to an early 14-0 lead on a 10-yard TD run by Dillon, a two-point conversion run by Kobe Johnson, and a 40-yard scoring strike from Dillon to Milligan. Milligan’s TD run made it 20-0 by the end of the first quarter.

Dillon then scored on a six-yard run nearly midway through the second quarter and his 14-yard TD pass to Milligan, followed by Burns’ two-point conversion run, put the Trojans comfortably ahead 36-0 at halftime.

“We played hard tonight,” Smith added.

Plaquemine returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchdown to end Ferriday’s shutout bid. But the Trojans responded quickly on Dillon’s touchdown pass to White to make it a 42-7 game.

The Trojans went up 48-7 on Burns’ touchdown run with about 8:00 to go in the fourth quarter before the Green Devils scored on a TD run with nearly 4:00 remaining.
