WCCA beats UCA Rams 59-36 Friday

Woodville – The Wilkinson County Christian Academy Rams defeated the Union Christian Academy Lions, 59-36, on Friday night.

It was on a 2-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter by Rams quarterback Brayson Boeta that sealed the victory over the Lions.

Boeta would pass for two touchdowns (both to RJ Fisher) and ran for two touchdowns in the game.

With 5:27 left in the first quarter, running back Roderick Bailey ran for a 63-yard touchdown. Then in the second quarter, he would run for a 9-yard touchdown. Bailey ended the game with seven carries and 99-yards rushing. The Rams rushed for 290 total yards.

The defense was also key in the game for the Rams. Defensive backs Thomas Vannoy, Fisher and defensive linemen Ben Sessions each recorded eight tackles while noseguard Cane Laneheart and Bailey had seven tackles. Sessions recorded a sack and recovered a fumble. Hunter Gaines recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown.

The Union Christian Academy Lions would score five touchdowns with Bryson Fields rushing for three of those touchdowns.

Fields even returned a kick for 57-yards for a touchdown. Hunter Thomason would pass for one touchdown and run for a 59-yard touchdown.

The game was called off with 5:43 left in the fourth quarter, due to multiple unsportsmanlike conduct penalties called on Union Christian.

The Rams (4-0) will travel to Prairie View Academy (4-0) in Bastrop, Louisiana.
