Oct. 27, 1942 – Sept. 15, 2019

NATCHEZ— Services for Jerry Dale Caraway, 76, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Sept.15, 2019, at his residence, will be 10 a.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church in Natchez with Bro. Timmy Cloy officiating.

Mr. Caraway was born Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1942, in Jackson, one of five sons born to John Cecil Caraway and Etta Mae Blackwell Caraway.
Jerry had no acquaintances, only conversations, hundreds of them. And once a conversation had been engaged a friendship was born.

Jerry married the love of his life, Billie Caraway in Kingston, at just 19 years of age. They celebrated their 56thwedding anniversary on May 24, 2019. Jerry worked every position for the oilfield imaginable; his past passions were rodeos and horses. Jerry poured his life into his family. He was adamant about family gatherings and holidays being held at his home — he never missed any of his grandchildren’s activities or birthdays.  He also loved to hunt, fish and the outdoors.
Mr. Caraway was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Wanda Andrews; and three brothers, Johnny Caraway, Gerald Caraway and Pete Caraway.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Billie Jean Whitehead Caraway; three daughters, Annette Wilson of Woodville, Jeanette Winborne and husband, Randal, and Sylvia Hewitt and husband, Ben, all of Natchez;one brother, Charlie Caraway and wife, Mae, of Kingston; and eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John W. Caraway, Benjamin Hewitt, Evan Wheeler, Chris Wilson, Zack Wilson and Aaron Winborne.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Hewitt, Paxton Moffett, Willie Smith, Kelly Thompson, Kevin Wilson, Randal Winborne and the deacons of Calvary Baptist Church.
