Natchez – The Cathedral Green Wave travel to Adams County Christian School square off for the second time this season.
The Green Wave (10-3-1) faced the Rebels at the ACCS Tournament on Aug. 16. The Green Wave defeated the Rebels, 3-0. Head coach Dennis Hogue said the Green Wave love facing the Rebels.
“It’s a big game for us and possibly the biggest games of this year,” Hogue said. “One of our goals is to beat ACCS, win Districts and go to playoffs. It’s for bragging rights. Half of these girls have played with each other. It’s just a good fun match. We look forward to this match all year long.”
To prepare for this match up, the Green Wave haven’t prepared to do anything in particular. At practices, Hogue said a certain things they weren’t good at in the last game.
“If everything seems to be clicking well, we up our game a little bit,” Hogue said. “We just try to keep plugging at our game and improve every day.”
In the last game against Parklane Academy, five different players scored in the 5-0 win. Some of the players to watch in the game against the Rebels are Izzy Dupre, Rivers Lee and Olivia Moore. The goalkeeper Lee has only given up one goal in the last three games (Sept. 3, 10 and 12).
“The beauty of my team this year is that I have a lot of young talent,” Hogue said. “They’re coming into their own.”
The match is set to start at 3:30 p.m. at Adams County Christian School.
