NATCHEZ — Services for Jessie Bell Carter, 68, affectionately known as “Jessie B.” of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, in Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Egypt Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Ford Sr. officiating.   
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home with a celebration of life wake service at 5:30 p.m.
Visitation will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Ms. Carter was born March 19, 1951, in Natchez, the daughter of Martin Carter Sr. and Frances Christmas Carter.
She was a 1969 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School and attended Delta Career College.  Jessie B. was a poll worker with Adams County Election Commission and a member of the NAACP.  She enjoyed shopping for clothes, groceries and treasures at garage sales.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Martin Carter Jr., Edward Ray Christmas Sr. and Melvin Carter; and one sister, Dorothy “Qbell” Carter.
Survivors include two daughters, Vifran Nanese Carter and Tiffany Nyree Carter; two brothers, Rickey James Carter and wife, Diane, of Dallas, and Ernest Carter and wife, Bernadine, of New Orleans; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
