NATCHEZ — Cathedral High School’s varsity girls’ soccer team completed a sweep through MAIS Division II South, Class AAAA with an impressive 5-2 win over the Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars Thursday afternoon at D’Evereux Stadium.

Izzy Dupre finished with a hat trick while Hailey Ellis and Olivia Moore each scored one goal for Cathedral. Gracie Foster assisted on three of those goals and goalkeeper Rivers Lee had 13 saves.

The win clinched the outright South Division championship for Cathedral, which finished the regular season with a 17-4-1 overall record and a 6-0 mark in division play.  The Lady Green Wave will be the South No. 1 seed and play host to Central No. 2 seed East Rankin Academy on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 5:30 p.m. in the first round of the 2019 MAIS Girls’ Soccer Division II Championship.
