“We were pleased with both sides of the ball. (Brookhaven Academy head coach) Ron (Rushing) has a good ball club over there,” Rebels head coach David King said. “We got a couple of breaks early and we capitalized on them. We made several big plays tonight.”

Sewell scored on a 75-yard run just 47 seconds into the game and Jasin Wesberry’s extra point gave ACCS a 7-0 lead. D.J. Stampley threw a 58-yard touchdown pass to Wes Stockstill at the 4:15 mark of the first quarter for a 14-0 Rebels lead.

“Cory ran the ball real well tonight. Offensive stepped up tonight,” King said.

Dontavious Stampley scored on a four-yard run early in the fourth quarter and led the team in tackles with five. ACCS’s defense forced three turnovers and held the Cougars in check.
