LAKE PROVIDENCE, La. — Ferriday High School senior quarterback Kobe Dillon accounted for 389 total yards of offense and five total touchdowns as the Trojans defeated the General Trass High School Panthers 58-14 Friday night in an LHSAA District 2-2A game.
Dillon completed 12 of 19 passes for 239 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. He also had eight carries for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
But it wasn’t easy for the fifth-ranked team in Class 2A in the early goings as Ferriday found itself leading a good Panthers team just 8-6 at the end of the first quarter.
“They came out early and hit us in the mouth. We had to be resilient and I think we responded well,” Trojans head coach Stanley Smith said. Ferriday took the momentum in the second quarter by putting up 26 points and took a 34-14 lead into halftime. It was all Trojans in the second half as they scored 12 points in both the third and fourth quarters.
Byron Milligan had nine carries for 78 yards and one touchdown. Elijah White had five catches for 110 yards and two touchdowns while Joshua Burns had three receptions for 102 yards. Kylyn Lewis had a touchdown reception.
Defensively, Lewis had eight tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack. Kobe Johnson had seven tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, and one fumble recovery.
“Overall, it was a good win for us. We have a few things we need to clean up,” Smith said.
