NATCHEZ — Natchez Police are investigating a Sunday afternoon shooting that sent a man to the hospital.

“We’re still looking in to it trying to figure out what happened,” said Capt. Scott Frye of The Natchez Police Department.

The shooting occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. in the heights.

“The subject was shot and transported to UMC (University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson),” Frye said. “He was listed in stable condition in the ICU.”

Frye said investigators did not yet have a suspect or motive in the shooting.

“We’re getting bits and pieces and trying put the pieces together to determine exactly what happened,” Frye said Monday afternoon.
