NATCHEZ – Services for Elsie M. Buckles, 81, of Natchez, who died Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, at her residence, will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Buckles was born April 8, 1938, in Lincoln County, the daughter of Lulian Lee Stephenson and Mary Cordelia Newell Stephenson.
Mrs. Buckles was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She worked for the telephone company for many years.  Her great passion was for flowers.
Mrs. Buckles was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aubrey L. Buckles Sr.; and one son, Aubrey Louis Buckles Jr.
Survivors include one daughter, Tammy E. Temple of Natchez; two sons, Albert L. Buckles of Natchez and Alvin P. Buckles of Bay St. Louis; three granddaughters; one grandson; four great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; one sister, Mary Steele of Natchez; and daughter-in-law, Margaret Buckles of Brookhaven.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Holifield, Ben Buckles, Lou Steele and Barry Emfinger.  Honorary pallbearers will be Houston Lee Buckles and Stevie Holifield.
Memorials may be made in her memory to the Arbor Association.
