Attention superheroes and ninjas! Calling all princesses and puppy dogs! Grab your treat bag, because the carnival excitement is about to begin. Jefferson Street United Methodist Church is hosting its annual Fall Carnival on Wednesday.

The spirits of Halloween are fun, but this carnival is going to appeal to your sense of creativity, family fun and definitely your sweet tooth.

The congregation at Jefferson Street is busy preparing yummy treats and crazy games for the carnival.

The Pumpkin Decorating Contest has been a crowd favorite for many years; not only does it showcase the creativity and imagination of the participants, but also everyone gets to vote on their favorite pumpkin for the grand prize. Please bring your pumpkin carved, painted, or decorated to the judging table by 6 p.m. Those pumpkins will knock your socks off!

Keep your creative juices flowing and pull together an awesome costume to wear to Jefferson Street for the Costume Contest. The kids will have age category winners, but adults are always welcome to enter the competition. You’re guaranteed to see some of the cutest little characters and critters on stage.

I love seeing church members of all ages come together to host a fun, family-friendly evening for the community. You’ll see teenagers helping toddlers play Pumpkin Golf for prizes, youth and seniors high-fiving over cake walk victories, and maybe even Brother Bill Barksdale in a costume.

The space jump is ready for all the happy feet, our cake walk table is overflowing with treats, and the game booths are stocked with candy and prizes … all we need is you!

Jefferson Street United Methodist Church is located at 511 Jefferson Street in Downtown Natchez. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served at 5:15 p.m. and the cost for dinner is $7 for adults and $4 for children, $20 per family max. The festival is free and begins at 6 p.m. You can enter the Family Life Center through the doors under the porte cochere on Jefferson Street.

We look forward to seeing you and your family!
