NATCHEZ��� Services for Betty Tipton Smith, 88, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Russell Wagoner officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith was born May 25, 1931, in Illinois, the daughter of Roscoe Roy Tipton and Martha Pearl Davis Tipton.
Betty was the sixth child of the Rev. R.R. and Martha Tipton. She was a member of Morgantown Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class.  For many years, Mrs.  Smith was the room mother for her children’s school classes, an officer of the P.T.A, and a member of the Pine Ridge Home Maker Club.  She was also a Sunday school teacher at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Sikes, Louisiana.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Smith; one daughter, Catherine; and eight siblings.
Survivors include two daughters, Beth Baker and husband, Freddie, Janet Aubic and husband, Jack, all of Natchez; one son, Edward “Eddie” Smith and special friend, Cindy Piazza; Shirley Smith Wilson; four grandchildren, Heather Skinner and husband, Denny, and Jack Aubic V and wife, Kacy, all of Natchez, Regina Pierce and husband, Andrew, of Alaska, and Mary Beth Zentner and husband, Martin, of New Orleans; four great- grandchildren, Sam Pierce and Isabel Pierce of Alaska, Hadlee Skinner and Jack Aubic of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews and special friend, Shirley Smith Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Jack Aubic V, Martin Zentner, Denny Skinner, Trent Ford and Jim Tipton.
Memorials may be made to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Belleville, Illinois or the American Cancer Society.
