Here’s what some grade-schoolers are thankful for this Thanksgiving

NATCHEZ — This Thanksgiving holiday, Natchez students found several things to be thankful for that can sometimes be easily taken for granted — whether it’s family, a home or a spiritual blessing.
First-, second- and third-grade students from local public and private schools were asked to write what they are most thankful for.
Here is of what some of them had to say:
Cathedral Elementary School
*“I am most thankful for the war because they fight for our country so we can be free,” Addie House said.
*“I am most thankful for my family because if it’s your cousin you could go on adventures or if it’s your dad he can fix everything,” James Brown said.
*“I am most thankful for my dog Penny because every time I go home she jumps on me and loves on me,” Vivienne Gibson said.
*“I am most thankful for Jesus because he died on the cross to save us from our sins and that makes me happy,” Allison French said.
*“I am most thankful for sports because it is real fun. My favorite sport is football. My favorite team is LSU Tigers. I am real thankful for football. I hope I play for LSU,” John Davis Lees said.
*“I am most thankful for my family because they help me do lots of things. They also help me do my homework and reading. I am glad to have a family,” Suniya Holloway said.
*“I am most thankful for my church, because I get to learn about God and worship him,” Tyler Boyette said.
*“I am most thankful for my family because I know when I need them they will be there for me, and I will do the same for them,” Kyle Lee Blanton said.
McLaurin Elementary School
*“I am thankful for my mom, because she is the best and she knows when I’m happy or sad,” A Laja Bailey said.
*“I am thankful for fun art because it’s fun,” Krisalynn Alexander said.
*“I am thankful for knowing multiplication, because I need to use it in third grade,” Trenton Robinson said.
*“I am thankful for my mom because she gave me life,” Amayah Prude said.
*“I am thankful for my sister and my family because they take good care of me,” Rsha Rashed Mujalli said.
*“I am thankful for my family, friends, my dog, my home, my school, my class, my teacher, my classmates, my dad, my brother, my church, my neighbor, my cousin and my art,” Bryson Gibbons said.
*“I am thankful for God because he protects us and he loves us and he forgives us if anyone is bad and he died for our sin,” Juliet Castaneda said.
*“I am thankful for my God because he made me. He made my dad, my mom, my teachers, my P.E. teacher, my art teacher, my computer teacher, my library teacher, my sister, my brothers, my church and my family,” Celise Anderson said.
Adams County Christian School
*“I am thankful for my family, for animals and my God,” Cooper Hale said.
4“Today, I’m most thankful for Mrs. Watts (teacher) and my friends. I love Wynn, Piper, Stella, God, Jesus, and Harvey,” Callen Beard said.
*“I’m most thankful for good food, friends, my parents and Jesus,” Hayden King said.
*“I am thankful for family, friends and God,” Sadie Donald said.
*“Today, I am most thankful for God, Jesus and all the things I need,” Harvey Estes said.
*“I am most thankful for God, food, Jesus, grandparents, sister brother and babies,” Wynn Alexander said.
*“I am thankful for my family, my friends and my country,” Emily Daugherty said.
*“I am thankful for my family, my food, water and Thanksgiving,” Savannah Little said.
