Geneva Mays Bass

FERRIDAY— Services for Geneva Mays Bass, 80, of Ferriday, who died at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Robert Cook officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Bass was born in Forest, Louisiana, the daughter of Dan Mays Jr. and Alberta McGraw Mays.
She was a retired Certified Nurse’s Aide for a number of years.
Mrs. Bass was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roosevelt Bass Sr.; and son-in-law, Dawayne Coleman.
Survivors include three sons, Roosevelt Bass Jr. and Royce “Rydell” R. Mays, both of Ferriday, and Kendrick L. Mays of Fort Worth, Texas; two daughters, Mary Coleman of Ferriday and Cassandra G. Bass of Fort Worth; one sister, Johnnie M. Robinson of Baker, Louisiana; three brothers, Renard Chatman and his wife, Catherine, of Vidalia, Edward Bowser and his wife, Clara, of Columbia, and Bobby Bowser of Ferriday; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; and one aunt, Rosie Hagans, of Ferriday.
