NATCHEZ — Approximately 20 volunteers worked at the Natchez Stewpot on Thanksgiving morning to serve approximately 400 Thanksgiving meals to elderly, shut-ins and less-fortunate people.

Stewpot cook of 28-years, Johnnie Coleman, said that on a scale of 1-to-10 for busyness, “I’ll give it a 15,” as compared to past Thanksgivings.

Stewpot volunteers said they appreciate recent donations and hope for more to help them through the holiday season.

The Stewpot, 69 E. Franklin St., is accepting donations of large canned green vegetables from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
