NATCHEZ– Services for George Daniel “Dan” Wells, 78, of Natchez, who died Monday, Dec. 3, 2019, in Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Highland Baptist Church with the Rev. Weyland Gauntt and the Rev. Paul Southerland officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.      
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Wells was born July 19, 1941, in New Orleans, the son of George Hunter Wells Jr. and Leola Lena Daniels Wells.
He worked for Pepsi Cola company for 25 years. He managed Plantation Exxon for a number of years.  From 1992 to present, he was the owner and operator of Wells Produce.  He was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Mr. Wells was a simple hard-working man.
Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his parents, Justice Court Judges George H. and Leola D. Wells; three brothers, Harry Wells, Bill Wells and Richard E. Wells; and special friend, Herman Merritt.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ann Wells; two sons, Danny Wells and wife, Tanya, of Nettleton, and Keith Wells and, Sherry, of Natchez; three grandsons, Shane Wells and wife, Sara, Brandon Wells and wife, Victoria, and Chris Wells and wife, Heather; one granddaughter, Alicia Wells; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy Wells and Ronnie Wells, both of Natchez; one sister, Kitty Wells Allen of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Shane Wells, Chris Wells, and Brandon Wells, also Carl Dunn, Rickey Nelson and Jason Yelverton.
Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughter Alicia Wells, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and Dr. Jeffrey Anderson.
