FERRIDAY— Services for James Don Eames Sr., 84, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019, at Mary Anna Nursing Home in Wisner, Louisiana, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Young’s Funeral Home Ferriday Chapel with the Rev. Josh Morea officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Eames was born June 21, 1935, in Roxie, the son of Jerry B. Eames and Pauline McCrary Eames.

In 1957, Don married the love of his life, Joyce Knight. He retired from Ashland Pipeline Company with 35 years of service.

Don served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Raymond Eames; and one granddaughter, Carley Renea Eames.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Joyce Eames; one son, Donny Eames and wife, Leslie, of Sicily Island; two daughters, Janice Lunsford and husband, Paul, of Graham, Texas, and Terri O’Hair and husband, Mark, of Lampasas, Texas; two brothers, James Phillip Eames and Michael “Bubba” Eames and wife, Kathryn, all of Ferriday; one sister, Marie Harris and husband, Paul, of Ferriday; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
