NATCHEZ— Services for Velma l. Meredith, 83, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, at her daughter’s residence in Monroe, Louisiana, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bibleway Church in Natchez.

Burial will follow at the St. Mark Cemetery in Wildsville, Louisiana, under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Meredith was born Aug. 18, 1936, in Wildsville, the daughter of Johnny Beard and Rachel Collinss.

She was a retired CNA at Merit Health Natchez.

Mrs. Meredith was preceded in death by one daughter, Veronica Jean Harris.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Meredith; two brothers, Clyde Beard of Jonesville and Fritz Beard of Natchez; one sister, Myrtle Bossier of New Orleans; three grandchildren, Stephanie Mayberry and husband, Randy, of Monroe, Larry Collins and wife, Venora, and Edward Joel Harris III and wife, Ariana, all of Ferriday; 14 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
