NATCHEZ — Natchez High School will be closed Friday due to a water leak found Thursday morning near the school gym, school officials said.

Because of the leak, the water in the school will be shut off while maintenance staff works to fix the problem, said Earnest “Tony” Fields, the Interim Public Relations Coordinator for the Natchez Adams School District.

Fields said the leak could not be fixed in a timely manner because of the age of the valve and pipes.

All other schools in the district would remain open Friday, Fields said.

The district will continue to give updates through media outlets and robocalls as to when the school will reopen for classes, Fields said.
