The Natchez Democrat has obtained a copy of a video of a drive-by shooting that occurred on Jan. 11 in downtown Natchez.

The video was taken from surveillance cameras on a private residence overlooking the intersection at High and Wall street.

In the video, one car pulls to the intersection and stops and another car pulls up. As the first car turns right onto Wall Street the other car fires several shots into the other car as it turns left onto Wall Street, traveling in the wrong direction on the one-way street.

Natchez Police are still investigating the incident and no arrests have been made.

When a resident attended Tuesday’s Mayor and Board of Aldermen to complain about the incident, aldermen agreed to purchase $16,000 worth of additional cameras through Project NOLA using the remainder of last year’s travel budget and a rebate from Entergy.

Anyone who has information on the shooting is asked to call the Natchez Police Department at 601-445-5565.
