Vidalia– Funeral services for Joanna Jones Dee, 85, of Vidalia, who died Monday, Feb. 3, 2020 in Vidalia will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020 at Zion Chapel No. 2 Church in Kingston.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 to 5:30 p.m. today with a “Celebration of Life” wake service at 5:30 p.m.at the funeral home. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Dee was born Jan. 2, 1935, the daughter of William Harrison Jones and Lula Burns Jones in Crosby, MS. Joanna was educated in Wilkinson County and was retired. She was a member of the Zion Chapel No. 2 Church where she served as a deaconess. Joanna enjoyed cooking, baking cakes and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Mary Brengettsy Hickombottom; son, Pastor Walter Smith, Sr. and sister, Luella Brooks.

Survivors include two sons, Albert Brengettsy and William Louis Smith; two daughters, Audrey Brown and Dorothy Sylvester and husband Robert; one brother, Walter Jones and wife Thelma; brother-in-law, John Brooks; daughter-in- law, Linda Smith, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
