Natchez — Memorial services for Verdell Bernard “Porkey” Sumpter, 49, of Natchez, who died Feb. 3, 2020, at his residence are 11 a.m. Sunday at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez.

Mr. Sumpter was born Sept. 16, 1970, to Evenlyn Howard.

Survivors include his mother; two sisters, Sherry Sumpter and Yolanda Sumpter; four brothers, Tyrone Oliver, Anthony Proby, Harry Sumpter and Steven Sumpter; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
