NATCHEZ — A man charged with murdering his parents in their Natchez residence Sunday evening was denied bond during his arraignment in Natchez municipal court Tuesday.
Colton Prescott, 34, is charged with two counts murder and one count aggravated assault manifesting extreme indifference to human life in connection to the shooting deaths of his parents George Prescott Jr., 63, and Cathy Prescott, 62, in their home on North Hampton Road before 6 p.m. Sunday.
Law enforcement officials said they believe Colton Prescott shot both his parents and abducted his 9-month-old daughter from the residence.
Law enforcement officials later found him and the baby at a house in Sibley.
Prescott was arrested at approximately 8 p.m. Sunday and the baby was returned safely to her mother, Natchez Police Chief Walter Armstrong said.
Armstrong said Municipal Court Judge Lisa Dale did not give a bond to Colton Prescott Tuesday while he awaits further court proceedings.
