NATCHEZ — The Glenbrook School Apaches used a seven-run rally in the top of the fourth inning to defeat the Adams County Christian School Rebels 9-4 last Tuesday night.

ACCS was originally scheduled to have a home-and-home series with Wilkinson County Christian Academy on Tuesday and Thursday of this week, but Rebels head coach Matthew Freeman said that WCCA had a junior and senior trip and those games will be rescheduled for later in the season.

Starting pitcher Blake LaPrairie pitched good in the first three innings, holding Glenbrook to just one run. The Rebels scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning for a 2-1 lead, but the lack of run support afterward proved to be huge.

The Apaches got to LaPrairie in the top of the fourth, running him out of the game after he gave up six runs and got only one batter out. They scored another run in the frame to take an 8-2 lead.

The Rebels scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth to make it an 8-4 game, but Glenbrook responded with one run in the top of the sixth.

LaPrairie was charged with the loss as he gave up seven runs on four hits and three hit batters with no walks in three and one-third innings. Rhett McDonald came on in relief and allowed one run on one hit with one walk and one hit batter over one and two-third innings. Tripp Cotten pitched two innings of relief, giving up one run and walking two batters.

ACCS (1-2) plays at Monterey High School for a varsity-only game today at 6 p.m. The Monterey High School Baseball Tournament that was scheduled for this weekend has been canceled due to the heavy rain that hit the region on Wednesday.
