NATCHEZ — Services for Anna Margaret Brown, 79, who passed away peacefully March 3, 2020, at Lafayette General Hospital will be 11 a.m. on Monday, March 9, at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joan Gandy officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service time Monday at the funeral home.
Anna Margaret was born Oct. 31, 1940, in Houma, Louisiana, the daughter of Sanni Anna and Wallace Richard Rouse.
Anna Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was the love of her life, and she dedicated much of her life to her three sons as they grew to men, husbands and fathers. She loved being part of their life as they played sports, and she gave of her time generously to help the local baseball leagues during baseball seasons.
She was a Rebelette at Natchez High School. She enjoyed drawing, ceramics, sewing, crocheting, cross stitching, and cooking. She was an avid bowler and her Team won the Louisiana State Bowling Championship and competed in the National Bowling Championship. Holidays with her family were a special time, especially Christmas, when she loved to make candy and treats for her family and friends. She had a great sense of humor, loved life and had a fierce competitive spirit.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Douglas Louie Brown, Sr. of Natchez, three sons, Dwayne Brown and wife, Lauren of Lafayette, La, Doug Brown and wife, Beverly of Natchez, and Dean Brown and wife, Kathryn Kempinska-Brown of Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren Buie, Adrian and Bailey Brown, Maggie Brown-Dean, Abby Brown-Hobdy, and Laura Ann Brown, Joshua and Jacob Brown; and one great-grandchild Tristan.
