Monday update: Mississippi cases of COVID-19 rise above 800; deaths rise to 16

The Mississippi State Department of Health reports 89 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state Monday. The new cases push the total number of cases in the state to 847.

Two more deaths were also reported in the state, bringing the total number of deaths to 16 on Monday. MSDH reports one of the new deaths in Amite County.

Among the new cases reported Monday morning were one new case in Adams County and one new case in Wilkinson County.
