Tuesday update: 177 new COVID-19 cases in Mississippi, 59 deaths

NATCHEZ — The Mississippi State Department of Health reported 177 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday in the state and eight new deaths.

As of Tuesday, the state reported a total of 1,915 cases of the novel coronavirus and a total of 59 deaths that resulted from the virus.

Five new cases were reported in Adams County for a total of 24 cases.

Adams County Coroner James Lee said Monday that a Natchez woman died of the virus and the new death in Adams County had not been reported by Tuesday from the MSDH.
