NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Irma L. Whitehead, 94, of Natchez who died Wednesday, April, 8, 2020 in Natchez will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2020, at Natchez City Cemetery with Rev Brian Monehan officiating. Services will be under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Whitehead was born Jan. 24, 1926, in Natchez, the daughter of John Henry Norris and Carrie Newell Norris.

She was a devoted member of Natchez Church of God; she was the oldest Charter Member.  Mrs. Whitehead taught Sunday School and cooked many meals in the church kitchen.  She loved her God, her Church and her family.

Mrs. Whitehead is preceded in death by her parents John Henry and Carrie Newell Norris, her husband, Charles “Tim” Whitehead; infant daughter, Sandra June Whitehead and two brothers Junior Norris and Carl Norris.

She is survived by three sons, Charles L. Whitehead and wife Ottie, J.D. Whitehead and wife Maralee, and Daryl Whitehead and wife Johnnie, and her children; grandchildren Doug Whitehead and wife Pam, Denise Whitehead Boyd and husband Daniel, Charles “Chuck” Whitehead, Jr. and wife Kellie, and Chassity Whitehead; three great grandchildren, Hunter Boyd, Andrew Boyd, Claye Whitehead; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Moore, Doug Whitehead, Chuck Whitehead, Claye Whitehead, Daniel Boyd, Hunter Boyd and Andrew Boyd.

Memorials contributions may be made to Natchez Church of God.
