Concordia Parish reports five new COVID-19 cases over weekend

The Concordia Parish Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness said Sunday it received reports of five more positive COVID-19 cases in Concordia Parish over the weekend.

The new cases reported over the weekend bring Concordia Parish’s total reported COVID-19 cases to 32 cases with the following data:

1 death

22 females

9 males

27 African Americans

5 Caucasian

The weekend cases were reported in a 65-year-old while female; a 78 year-old-black female; a 53-year-old black female; a 21-year-old black male; and a 73-year-old black male.

The Louisiana Department of Health reports positive cases to the Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness of the patients’ residence.

The Concordia Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness will verify the tests on Monday when doctor’s offices are reopened, said Timothy Vanier, director Concordia Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness.
