Thursday update: Adams County virus cases increasing faster than state rate

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Adams County increased by 9.4 percent Thursday.

The Mississippi State Department of Health reported an additional six cases of the virus in Adams County in its morning report. On Thursday, MSDH said the county has 70 cases of the virus.

The cases in Adams County are increasing at a slightly higher rate than the state — which saw a 7.8 percent increase in confirmed cases Thursday.

MSDH reported an additional 264 cases of the virus for the state, raising the state’s total to 3,624 cases. The state also reported an additional 7 deaths from the virus, raising the state’s total to 129 deaths from COVID-19.
