NATCHEZ — Services for coach George W. Smith, 86, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at Adams County Nursing Home will be Monday, April 20, 2020, at 10 a.m. at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Son Funeral Home with immediate family only attending.

George was born March 22, 1934, in Hazard, Kentucky the son of Van and Myrtle Smith.  He graduated from Liberty High School and Jackson State College. He received his Master’s Degree from University of Southern Mississippi. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Mary Ruth Smith; one son, Darryl and wife Priscilla Smith; three brothers Don (Carol) Smith, Sam (Helen) Smith and Jim (Georgetta) Smith; three Sisters, Virginia Maniece, Ruth Hogg, and Monica Smith; three Grand Daughters, Jivanna, Jamira, and Jakira Smith who were the apples of his apples; and on great-grandson, Roman Green; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
