Saturday update: No new cases of COVID-19 reported in Adams County for first time in 12 days

For the first time in 12 days, no new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Adams County.
Saturday morning, the Mississippi State Department of Health reported no new confirmed cases of the virus in Adams County. Since April 6, the county has seen the number of virus cases increase each day from 19 cases on April 5 and 6 to 73 cases on Friday.

MSDH reported 6 deaths from COVID-19 in Adams County. Two of the deaths, according to Adams County Coroner James Lee, were from an area nursing home. MSDH is currently investigating outbreaks in two long-term care facilities in Adams County.
On Saturday, MSDH reported 181 new cases of the virus in the state and additional 12 deaths from COVID-19. The state has reported a total 3,974 cases and 152 deaths in the state since March 11.
