NATCHEZ – Another Adams County man died with COVID-19 Tuesday afternoon at Merit Health Natchez, local officials said.

Adams County Coroner James Lee said the patient was a 77-year-old black male who was pronounced dead just after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The patient’s identity has not been released to protect the privacy of the family, Lee said.

As of Tuesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health reported 6 confirmed COVID-19 related deaths, not including the latest victim of the virus.

The information will be forwarded to the Mississippi State Department of Health for verification before the MSDH adds the death to its statewide COVID-19 reports

“We are still in a pandemic in Natchez,” Lee said. “I pray for good health to all.”
