NATCHEZ — Adams County Coroner James Lee reported another COVID-19 death in Natchez on Friday afternoon.

Lee said the victim is a 75-year-old male Natchez resident who was pronounced dead at 4:19 p.m. Friday at Merit Health Natchez.

Once the death is confirmed by the Mississippi State Department of Health, it will bring Adams County’s COVID-19 death total to nine.

“My sincere condolences to the family,” Lee said. “I pray we recognize that this pandemic is not over and the numbers in Mississippi continue to increase. We must not relax but stay the course until there is at least a vaccine. Please wear your protected equipment until you hear from the experts from physicians and the CDC.”
