NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Rev. Sam Frances Porter, of Natchez, MS, who received his wings on May 1, 2020, will be officiated by Pastor Melvin White under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Sam was born in Woodville, MS, to Rev. Wiley and Evelyn Porter.

He was a faithful servant of God serving as Pastor of Windy Hill #1 Missionary Baptist Church and a member of County Missionary and the AMB Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Wiley & Evelyn Porter; Siblings, Rev. Dr. Ernest Porter, Joseph Porter, Betty Porter, and Carl Porter; Son, Derrick Amadler.

Sam leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Gloria Washington-Porter; Daughters, Nicole Wickem, Samantha Wickem, Veronica Dixon, and Christian Jackson; Son, Brian Wickem all of New Orleans, LA; Brothers, Pastor Fred (Evonne) Porter of Kenner, LA, Forrest (Sherene) Porter of New Orleans; Sisters, Audrey Henry and Hazel Porter of Natchez, MS; Sisters-in-Law, Pearlie Porter of Indianapolis, IN, Marion Porter, and Rodiesha Porter, both of New Orleans, LA, a special cousin, Barbara Washington of Natchez, MS; Goddaughter, Kristie Sewell of Natchez, MS; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
