Mississippi set a new daily record for the number of COVID-19 coronavirus cases the Mississippi State Health Department reported Friday.

The state reported 404 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours, marking a new daily high. The previous daily high was reported last Friday when 397 cases were confirmed.

MSDH reported Adams County had 157 cases of the virus with 11 deaths. MSDH is also reporting 38 cases and 5 deaths in long-term care facilities in Adams County.

Friday’s update brings the total positive cases found in Mississippi to 9,090.

Mississippi’s death toll rose by 13 deaths, Friday, bringing the total deaths to 409. The state reported three of the latest deaths reported actually occurred days prior but were delayed in reporting.
