NATCHEZ — Dan Dillard recently announced his candidacy for reelection to alderman ward 6.

“I pray you and your loved ones remain safe during this pandemic,” Dillard said. “The last three months have been especially hard on our community. … The main focus now is to save our local businesses and jobs. The challenge is great and will require new ways of doing business.”
Dillard highlighted his work as ward 6 alderman over the past four years.
“Four years ago, I ran on a pledge to see that the City maintain a balanced budget and for the last three years the City has ended with a surplus,” Dillard said, “while at the same time resurfacing over $1 million of streets, increasing pay for our police officers and firefighters. Installing new crime fighting cameras, purchasing new radios and equipment to improve our first responder’s communications capabilities and gaining access to state towers. We’ve made improvements to our recreational facilities. Upgraded our city streetlights with new cost efficient LED fixtures and more. This was all as a result of hard work and insightful budgeting. It’s the single most important aspect of government because it affects everything.”

Dillard closed by saying he believes experience will be important in the next term.
“Now, more than ever, our city needs an alderman with experience, leadership ability and sound judgment,” Dillard said. “I will use all of my experience, training and knowledge to move Natchez forward. I humbly ask for your vote on Tuesday June 2, 2020, at the Duncan Park Voting Place to re-elect Dan Dillard as your Alderman for Ward 6.
