CENTERVILLE — George L. Gulledge, loving husband, father, and “Grand Georgia,” passed into the hands of his Lord and Savior, on Friday, May 29, 2020.
George was born in Natchez, Mississippi to the late George W. and Grace B. Gulledge on April 8, 1948. He retired as a District Manager of Family Dollar. Around 10 years ago, George developed the hobby of metal sculpting and enjoyed showcasing his artistic ability in the form of “yard art.” He gave a lot of his works away over the years, but also sold many of his pieces, too. George’s personality was one that people will never forget as he was unwaveringly thoughtful and attentive to everyone he knew. He was also appreciative to help anyone and never needed a ‘thank you’ in return for his good deeds.
George is survived by his loving wife, Beverly L. Gulledge of Centerville; son, Ian Shawn Gulledge (Jessica) of Haynesville; grandchildren, M. Cody, Sarah Elizabeth, and Chase Ian Gulledge; brother, David G. Gulledge (Barbara) of Raymond, Mississippi; sister, Alice F. Gulledge of Brandon, Mississippi; and four nieces and nephews.
At the family’s request, all services will be private.
