The race for the Democratic Party nomination for Natchez Ward 4 Alderman is headed to a June 23 runoff.
Incumbent Democrat Felicia Bridgewater Irving garnered 345 votes, or 47.65% of the vote, and Democratic challenger, Michael Calcote, got 282 votes, or 38.95% of the vote.
To avoid a runoff a candidate must get more than 50% of the vote.
The winner of the runoff will face Republican candidate Brenda Floyd in the July 14 general election.
