Miss-Lou youth softball, baseball begin play

NATCHEZ — Miss-Lou youth softball and baseball is underway.

In the Natchez-Adams Girls Softball League, eight softball teams were in play on June 15. The Smile team earned a 10-3 victory over Scotty Wielding on Field C. Maddi Perry hit a double for Scotty Wielding.

In another game, Super Auto Glass earned a close 19-14 victory over Regan Diesel in the 18-and-under age division on Field A. Amanda Maples was the winning pitcher while Kaylin Temples was the losing pitcher.

In the third game, Natchez Market squared off against Merit Health on Field B. Natchez Market won 7-6 over Merit Health.

In the game, Halle Smith hit a home run for Natchez Market. Amaleigh Jordan, Madison Greene and Clara Poole each hit doubles in the game. Jordan went 2-for-2 at the plate. Greene earned the victory for Natchez Market.

In the final game, Stewart Realty played against State Farm on Field B. Stewart Realty earned the 8-4 victory over State Farm.

Kierstyn Thomas hit a home run and went 2-for-2 at the plate. Kimora Scaife hit a double and also went 2-for-2 for Stewart Realty. Revin Tomecko was the winning pitcher.

For State Farm, Lynlee Kingsafer hit a double.

In the Concordia Dixie Youth league, four youth baseball teams began play on June 16. Blaney and Hodges Oilfield Services played against Concordia Bank. Concordia Bank won 23-10.

Meanwhile, UMB played against US Lawns. UMB won 5-4 over US Lawns. Eli Wilson was the winning pitcher. Wilson threw three innings and struck out five batters. Cooper Atkins went 2-for-2 at the plate.
