Youth softball round up: Reagan Diesel, Eagle Electric, State Farm, Merit Health earn victories

NATCHEZ — Five games involving the Natchez-Adams Girls Softball League took place last Tuesday afternoon at the Natchez-Adams Girls Softball Complex despite the forecast for rain and thunderstorms that, thankfully, never materialized.

There were two 18-and-under age division games on Field A. First, Reagan Diesel defeated Alexander Body Shop 7-2. Rebecca Ratcliff was the winning pitcher while Amberly Wallace was charged with the loss. No players for either team hit an extra-base hit nor were there any multiple hitters.

Then Eagle Electric beat Super Auto Glass 7-0 behind Jaidyn Flowers’s solid performance on the mound. Amanda Maples suffered the loss. Madison Baskin hit a home run for Eagle Electric.

Two 11-and-under division contests took place on Field B. State Farm held on for a 4-3 win over Natchez Market. Kessley Maples got the win and Madison Greene took the loss. Reece Jones led State Farm at the plate by going 2-for-2.

Later on, Merit Health took care of Stewart Realty 6-1. Winning pitcher Anna Arthur helped her own cause with a home run while Jessa Whittington hit a triple and Brittany Smith added a double for Merit Health. Revin Tomecko went 2-for-2 for Stewart Realty.

In 5-and-under action on Field C, Scott’s Welding defeated Smile Team 12-7. Phoebe Godfrey hit a double for Scott’s Welding.
