Natchez police warn of spike in burglaries

NATCHEZ — Natchez Police Department officials are warning residents to be aware of a recent spike in reported burglaries in the city.
“The burglaries have occurred at businesses as well as at some residences,” said Walter Armstrong, Natchez police chief. “Ensure that your vehicles are locked and your valuables are removed.
“Report any suspicious activity whether big or small, the case of the Turning Angel was solved because of a tip received and a lots long hours from the Criminal Investigation Division Of The Natchez Police Department.”
Armstrong said residents can report crimes by calling 911 or the Natchez Police Department at 601-445-5565 or Crime Stoppers at 601-442-5000, which is anonymous.
