Mississippi reports another large number of new COVID cases Saturday

The Mississippi State Department of Health on Saturday reported 990 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 4 new deaths. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 30,674, with 1,107 deaths.
Adams County recorded 17 new cases and now has 310 total confirmed COVID-19 cases in the county 18 total deaths with 10 deaths and 44 cases in long term care facilities.
Adams County Coroner James Lee recorded another COVID-19 death on Saturday and if the MSDH confirms that death to be due to COVID-19 that would put the county’s death toll at 19.
Adams County Emergency Management Agency Director Robert Bradford said Adams County had 45 active COVID-19 cases on Thursday.
Statewide, 100 long-term care facilities have outbreaks as of Saturday.
