NATCHEZ – Services for Bettie Rae Sanders, 90, of Natchez will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at McNeely Road Church of God.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at McNeely Road Church of God.

Mrs. Bettie Rae Sanders passed away from this life on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2023. She was born on Monday, Sept. 25, 1933, in Franklin County, Mississippi. Bettie Rae was a resident of Natchez for 70-plus years and a member of McNeely Road Church of God. The world bid farewell to a true Christian lady and a jack of all trades. She spent many years as a cashier for grocery stores in Natchez. She enjoyed working in her yard, sewing, gathering pecans, attending church, and loving on her family. Her memory will live on forever in our hearts.

Bettie Rae was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas (T.J.) Sanders; her son, Thomas (Tommy) Sanders; parents, Effie and Henry Harrigill; brothers, Edward Harrigill, Henry Harrigill, and Willie Harrigill; sisters, Irene Jones, Henrietta Felter, Pauline Russell, Marie Mullins, and Josie Cloy.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Betty (B.J.) Rhodes and husband, Richard; her brother, Claude Harrigill, and wife, Susie; daughter-in-law, Teri Sanders; granddaughter, Monica Lisenby, and husband, Dustin; grandsons, Thomas (Jay) Sanders and fiancé, Hannah, and Jeremy Sanders and wife, Kim; great-grandchildren, Mikayla Coley, Marleigh Jo, Hannah, and Landon Smith; Hailey Whittington (Tanner), Madison Archer (Bradley), and many great-great grandchildren, Remington, Gunner, Chloe, Fisher, Brielle , Riverlynn , Trippe and Ivy. She also leaves behind a large host of nieces and nephews.

Those honoring her as pallbearers will be her grandson, Jeremy Sanders; her great-grandsons, Landon Smith and Trippe Thomas; great-nephews, Britton McCall, Dalton and Tyler Upton, and Blake Neal.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jay Sanders, Remington, and Gunnar.
