Hundreds line Carter Street as Vidalia kicks off Christmas season with parade

VIDALIA, La. — Hundreds of cars and even more people lined Carter Street from Vidalia High School to the Old Courthouse Sunday late afternoon for the annual Vidalia Christmas Parade.

The parade ended at the Old Courthouse, where a holiday festival featuring games and activities for children, food vendors and Santa for all to enjoy.

Vidalia Mayor Buz Craft led the parade, riding on a Vidalia Fire Department engine and threw candy for children and parents alike.

The parade, which took about an hour to make its way down the street, featured more than 25 floats, bands and dancing groups.
