VIDALIA, La. — A Vidalia man faces charges of 286 counts of child pornography and possession of images that involved humans sexually abusing animals.
Michael H. George, 67, is currently detained at the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office jail on these charges without bond.
The CPSO Cyber Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a Vidalia residence on Wednesday that uncovered numerous electronic devices with hundreds of files containing sexual abuse material, the department said in a news release Thursday.
Based on the evidence, George was taken into custody without incident.
Each of these devices was analyzed and no local victims were identified during the search, authorities said. However, the matter remains under investigation.
Anyone with additional information relevant to this case can contact Detective Stephen Lipscomb at (318) 336-5231 Ext. 409 or submit a tip online using the CPSO mobile app.
Anyone who is arrested is presumed innocent until they are proven guilty.
